In many cases, people who specialized in medicine or science are needed to solve crimes. A toxicologist might be needed to figure out if the dead person was on drug or if he/she drank alcohol. A DNA analyst might be need to analyze the DNA found at the crime scene. Even an odontologist might be needed to identify an individual by the shape of the teeth. This is why not only police officers, but also forensic scientists are essential for our country, and the world, to be safe from crime.
